The former Orgreave Colliery site in Waverley is being transformed into a brand new town centre which will be home to a thriving local community. Dransfield Properties and Harworth Estates are working together to develop the town centre, creating a vision for new homes, shops and a health hub.Local people will benefit from access to health and wellbeing services, job opportunities plus skills and training.

The former colliery complex is already home to the Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP), the UK’s premier advanced manufacturing technology park. The new Waverley Community will have 4,000 homes plus office and commercial areas. It aims to achieve zero carbon status and will be a great example of sustainable development with green spaces including recreation areas with parkland, three lakes, a reservoir and woodland.

Well Rotherham is involved in creating the health hub, which will be at the heart of the new community. The team is also establishing links with community businesses, voluntary and other organisations which are providing support and services to people in Canklow and other neighbourhoods around Waverley.
