Junk Food Project to launch at Veg in the Park
A new project serving nutritious meals made from food that would otherwise been sent to landfill makes its debut on Friday 8th July at Oldham’s Veg in the Park event.
The Real Junk Food Project Oldham (RJFPO) intercepts surplus food and uses it to cook a meal for people to eat. A co-operative model led by local people, it operates on a pay-as-you-feel basis, asking people to give what they can. That may be donating, volunteering, cooking, cleaning or anything else in return for food. The event runs from 7-9pm at Waterhead Park, Peach Road, OL4 2HX.
