Brendan Hill
Chief Executive of Concern Group
I’m the Chief Executive of Concern Group, which comprises leading third sector organisations Mental Health Concern and Insight Healthcare. Our headquarters are in the North East, and we provide services across the UK, primarily commissioned by the NHS as well as local authorities and the Big Lottery Fund. Our mission is to “improve the mental health and wellbeing of the people we serve.”
My background is in psychiatric nursing and I’ve worked in mental health for 30 years, in both the statutory and non-statutory sectors. In addition to leading Concern Group, I provide third sector representation and expertise on a number of local, regional and national strategic forums focused on cross-sector development of health and social care.
As a founding Board member of Blue Stone Consortium my role is to support the planning, and implementation of Well Newcastle Gateshead; providing advice and guidance on how we can maximise the contribution and assets of the local VCS, arts and culture.
While having a clear focus on the mental health and wellbeing agenda, I’m also keen to support service innovation and development for wider system change to improve the lives of people we serve.
