In addition to leading Well Doncaster, I’m Director of Public Health at Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council and a non-executive director of Doncaster Children’s Services Trust.

My training was in general medicine, psychiatry and public health, as I followed the path from addressing physical to mental and finally to social causes of ill-health. I’ve also spent time working in the community, voluntary and faith sector. My public health roles have covered mental health, prisons, harm reduction, vaccination, screening and cancer.

I lead the development of the Doncaster Health and Wellbeing strategy, provide public health expertise to the Doncaster Health and Social Care Partnership and also co-ordinate work between public health and other Doncaster Council departments.
