Eileen O’Meara
Director of Public Health, Halton
As Director of Public Health and Public Protection, I’m responsible for health strategy, protection, care and improvement, the commissioning of services, trading standards and environmental health.
I have over 20 years’ national and international experience in public health, working at a senior level for the NHS, World Health Organisation and the Unicef children’s charity. I’m a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health of the Royal College of Physicians.
At Well Halton, we’re seeking to work with local people in our most challenging areas. We aim to jointly build new Multi-Generational Centres, working with local businesses, services and clinicians. This would see existing local assets working in a more connected way, joining up around older people and families in particular.
I’m passionate about harnessing energy so people can change things for themselves. Travelling, walking in the countryside, visiting art galleries and reading novels are my favourite pastimes.
