Matthew Ashton
Well North Lead for Sefton
I am the Director of Public Health for Sefton and Knowsley and I head up the Well Sefton programme.
My other roles include being the current chair of ChaMps, the Cheshire and Merseyside Public Health Collaborative Service, and lead Merseyside Director of Public Health for the Liverpool City Region NHS and Local Government Collaborative Leadership Group, Domestic Abuse Prevention, and Public Health Intelligence.
I am a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health. I've worked in Knowsley since 2005, having previously been Deputy Director of Public Health, and held positions at the North West Public Health Observatory/Centre for Public Health, Liverpool John Moores University, and the Health Protection Agency North West.
Passionate about wellbeing, social justice and reducing health inequalities, I live in Liverpool with my wife, two young children, and one very old dog.
