Judith MacMorran
Formerly a secondary school teacher and a health improvement practitioner (advanced) since 1988, I have wide practical experience of multi-disciplinary and agency working in the north east within the field of public health. My skills include training development and facilitation, supporting schools to further improve their health promoting practice, advocating for change in the field of tobacco control and promoting public health campaigns locally. My project management and communication skills are well developed and I am always keen to improve my practice further.
As a steering group member of the Well Newcastle Gateshead programme I represent Newcastle City Council’s Public Health Team. I am looking forward to working with the partnership to see the programme grow and develop and lead to positive outcomes for those involved.
I’m passionate about children and young people; giving every child the best possible start in life and helping them to reach their potential. Equally I am passionate about reducing health inequalities and striving to increase professional and public understanding of public health improvement and ‘everyone’s’ role within it. Outside of work I enjoy gardening, swimming and holidaying in Europe
