Dr Selwyn Hodge

Adviser

Having trained and qualified as a research organic chemist, I moved into teaching and then education leadership and management roles. I’ve also been involved in lecturing trainee teachers, and in carrying out school inspections for OFSTED .

I’m also very active in the voluntary sector. Currently I’m working with Ambition UK (a leading national youth charity), the national Self Care Forum Board and Breathe Easy Oldham (a patient support group). I’m a member of both Oldham Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Equality and Diversity panel and the Pennine Acute Hospital Trust’s Improving Medicines Safety Team, plus Inspire Social Enterprise, set up to develop singing for health programmes.

At Well North, I’m advising on initiatives around the health and wellbeing of children and young people, and considering how education and youth services can better promote employability, personal resourcefulness and confidence.
