Dr Adam Garrow
Evaluation Team
I’ve had a wide and varied career, beginning as a podiatrist in the NHS before embarking on a research career. I’ve worked for the Arthritis Research Campaign, the Manchester Diabetes Centre, the University of Salford and the Medicines Evaluation Unit – a respiratory clinical trials unit at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester. In 2014, I joined the Manchester Urban Collaboration for Health (MUCH) and am involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students.
My role at Well North involves co-ordinating the overall evaluation of the programme across all the pathfinders. I’m also involved in the development of strategy and evaluation systems to ensure consistency of methods across Well North.
I have a particular interest in the health benefits of music and in 2014 established a social enterprise which set up a choir for people with long term lung disease – the Oldham Jolly Wheezers. We recently helped set up another choir for people with communication problems following a stroke or head injury.
